Field for local identifier #65
Comments
Including a local identifier used by governments would also make it easier to cross this dataset with other official datasets that make references to them. |
Sounds very wise. There's a column for local identifier ID in the ones I'm uploading for Sweden soon. |
@augusto-herrmann +1 - can you do a PR for any changes you want here. Also @augusto-herrmann would you interested in becoming the "maintainer" for Public Bodies project? http://okfnlabs.org/projects/publicbodies/ - this would mean you could own issues and questions like this and get listed on the website as the official maintainer ;-) /cc @danfowler |
Thanks. For the past couple of years, I have been able to give attention to this project only once every few months. If it's ok not having to be more regular, I'd be fine to becoming a "maintainer". In any case it would be good to have more than one maintainer in the project in order to respond to issues and PRs more quickly than I'm able to. |
@augusto-herrmann Excellent, @augusto-herrmann. Whatever time you can spare is much appreciated :). To make it official, can you add yourself to the okfnlabs site? http://okfnlabs.org/members/signup/ |
Sorry for the delay, but now it's done. Next I'll do a PR of the actual issue being discussed here. @rgrp , you can assign this issue to me as per your suggestion. |
IMO this field should definitely be included in our review of the table schema for #78 |
I agree completely, good! |
There should a field in the csv schema to store the local identifier code for a public body, if available. This would make it possible to later create a global identifier (as per #41) and also to keep track of bodies that change names.
