2019 Mentors

  • Tommaso Soru (http://tommaso-soru.it) is a Doctoral Researcher at AKSW, University of Leipzig, Germany and a Data Scientist at Semantic Integration Ltd, London, UK. He works on Machine Learning applied to Linked Data.

  • Mariano Rico (MarianoRico, mariano.rico@upm.es) is Senior Doctor Researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in the Ontology Engineering Gropu (OEG). He is creator and responsible for the Spanish DBpedia. His interests include Linked Data, Machine Learning and Graph visualization.

  • Nandana Mihindukulasooriya (nandana@apache.org, https://www.linkedin.com/in/nandanamihindu/) is a researcher at IBM Research AI, MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab. He is interested in Linked Data, Semantic Web, Machine Learning, and Data Quality.

  • Beyza Yaman (yaman@infai.org, https://www.linkedin.com/in/beyza-yaman/) is a researcher in InfAI, Leipzig and responsible for Turkish DBpedia. She is interested in information retrieval, data extraction and integration over Linked Data.

  • Ricardo Usbeck (http://aksw.org/RicardoUsbeck.html) is a researcher at the University of Paderborn, Germany and his main interests are search engines, question answering, information retrieval and extraction. He wants to spark open source intelligent assistance systems using the wealth of DBpedia knowledge.

  • Diego Moussallem (http://aksw.org/DiegoMoussallem) is a researcher at the University of Leipzig and Paderborn, Germany. He investigates the use of Knowledge Graphs in NLP tasks, mainly, Entity Linking, Natural Language Generation and Machine Translation. Also, he is the current responsible for the Portuguese DBpedia.

  • **Thiago Castro Ferreira** (Email: tcastrof@tilburguniversity.edu) is a postdoc researcher at the University of Tilburg, The Netherlands. He is an expert in Natural Language Generation, but is also interested in Computational Linguistics and Artificial Intelligence applications in general.

  • Jens Grivolla (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jensgrivolla/) is a researcher at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain. His work in the TALN group group touches various areas of NLP and information retrieval / extraction. He has recently founded the Catalan DBpedia chapter (which still needs a lot of work).

  • Luca Virgili (l.virgili@pm.univpm.it, https://www.linkedin.com/in/lucavirgili) is currently a PhD student at Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy. His reseach interests involve Big Data Analytics, Network Analysis, and Cybersecurity. He participated at GSoC'17 as student and at GSoC'18 as mentor.

  • Krishanu Konar (https://www.linkedin.com/in/krishanu-konar) is currently working as a DevOps Engineer at Media.net in Mumbai, India. His interests include Machine Learning, automation, scripting, microservices architecture and general system operations. He participated in GSoC'17 as a student, as well as in GSoC'18 as a mentor.

  • Rricha Jalota (https://dice.cs.uni-paderborn.de/team/profiles/jalota/) is a developer in the Data Science Group at University of Paderborn, Germany. Her interests lie in the application of Machine Learning/Deep Learning to solve NLP tasks.

  • Aman Mehta (https://www.linkedin.com/in/aman-mehta-8368b03a/) is an undergraduate researcher at International Institute of Information Technology - Hyderabad, India. His research interests lie in Automatic Question Answering Systems over text and KBs. He was a successful student for DBpedia in GSoC'18.   • Ram G Athreya (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ramgathreya/) is a graduate student at Arizona State University and Google Summer of Code 2017 participant. His interests are in NLP, chatbots and question answering systems.

  • Aziz Alto is a PhD student in computer science, Pace University. Interested in Machine Learning and its applications to language understanding. Current focus include KGs Embeddings and Q/A Systems.

  • Amandeep Srivastava (https://www.linkedin.com/in/amandeep-srivastava/) is a final year undergraduate at Indian Institute of Technology(ISM), Dhanbad, India. He is interested in Big Data, Knowledge bases & Ontology, Machine Learning and scripting.

  • Nausheen Fatma (https://www.linkedin.com/in/nausheenfatma/) is an NLP Data Scientist at Naukri.com (India's leading recruitment company). She did her Masters in Computer Science from IIIT-Hyderabad, and was a GSoC participant of Summer 2017. Her interests include Knowledge graphs, and Deep Learning for NLP.
