Is this your first time submitting a feature request?

  • I have read the expectations for open source contributors
  • I have searched the existing issues, and I could not find an existing issue for this feature
  • I am requesting a straightforward extension of existing dbt functionality, rather than a Big Idea better suited to a discussion

Describe the feature

dbt docs generate generates all of the files to host your docs at https://{{websitename}}.com

I'm wanting to host multiple documentation sites for our platform in a single S3 bucket.

Ideally, we'd have it application specific by S3 prefix
So:

{{websitename}}.com - would point to our root site
{{websitename}}.com/dbt - would point to our dbt docs

We've tried this but the javascript for dbt docs doesn't support nested objects

Describe alternatives you've considered

No response

Who will this benefit?

Everyone self hosting on S3

Are you interested in contributing this feature?

Yes

Anything else?

No response
