We need an easy to follow Platform Guide for VuePress the Vue-powered static site generator.

Highlighted in comment there is a shakeup between VuePress and many migrating to VitePress so i'm not sure which guide makes more sense as I don't use either project. Maybe @aentwist can comment?

Since there is not much recent activity on the VuePress repo, I would go with VitePress. We're probably writing these guides for the long term so it would be a shame to start with a deprecated tool.

I've been playing around with Decap CMS and use VitePress in a few sites. I'm willing to write a guide page for how to connect a Vue powered SSG with Decap. I would also not write a guide for VuePress v1, but maybe VuePress v2 is worth a guide / small section on the page.

Is there a template or checklist for what needs to covered in the guide? Each page seems to have slightly different sections, like introduction or installation. If not, I can follow one of the other pages as a starting point

There is no template/checklist because all SSGs are different and require different setups. I suggest you pick one that you like and take it for a reference, but also consider the specifics of VitePress.
