User Story

As a Veteran, I would like to be able to view and edit my household information so that I make sure VA has accurate information for me.

Acceptance Criteria/Definition of Done

  • Add tasks/questions for discovery as things come up
  • Figure out BE schema for Dependent income
  • Success: We have answered all of our questions around sending/receiving Household data to VES the design process and we have shared those answers/conferred with Devs.

Resources

  • Design links
  • Screenshots
  • Reference docs/tickets where we have this kind of work documented
  • Etc.

@IMHieuVo mocked up some options for the spouse List&Loop, particularly how we handle the marital status question. Two options to discuss and refine:

  • (A) Marital Status to List&Loop with a looper question
  • (B) Marital Status question is a page within the List&Loop flow

Flow A raises some questions for UX regarding the backend:

  1. What happens on the backend when there is a status change for a spouse? For example: I have been married for years, but in June I my divorce was finalized; I want to submit a new EZR post-divorce to remove my spouse
  2. Likewise, what happens on the backend when a dependent is removed? For example, a dependent ages out of dependent status (turns 26 and is no longer covered by parent's health insurance) or passes away. Does the system delete the record of the dependent? Is a new EZR without the dependent but all other household members still on it required?

Why we're asking this:
The conditional yes/no question logic about marital status in Flow A would send Veterans who are never married, divorced or widowed straight to the dependent List&Loop. The problem we're trying to still work out is whether a Veteran's marital status change necessitates updating a current spouse's information (from married to divorced/widows) or if they just indicate "no marital status."

I went ahead and moved this story to the icebox for now, as our questions as of 2/19/2025 have been answered. We can move it back to in-progress if more questions arise.
