Fortnite extremely low quality character textures

Expected Behavior

Normal quality textures. They don't even load in the locker. Only current battle pass skins look normal.

Steps to Reproduce

i had the game through epic games and all textures were fine for years, after issues with updating i tried legendary and it failed too.
I uninstalled through epic and installed though here and its like that.

You actually have to opt-in for Fortnite's high-resolution textures now; even on the Epic Games Launcher:

Not sure how one is supposed to do that with the Legendary launcher from outside the game, though..
