just want to use this on my watch even smaller screen seems like a perfect application for such a keyboard using the stock qwerty is not easy

I don't have a wearOS device, so I wouldn't be able to do that one.

Can re-open if someone wants to work on this, or someone wants to buy me a wear-os device.

If you sideload it at least on my watch (galaxy watch 7) it works relatively well after decreasing the size. Its also very suited for typing on small screens. Taking in account the cutoff on the edges would be the main improvement. Even if I dont stick with this on my phone itll probably stay on my watch :)

That seems pretty complicated to set this up as an identifiable IME.

I did recently get a wear OS device tho, so I can look into this.

It seems like possibly making the keyboard fullscreen is preferred and then mirroring the text. https://developer.android.com/training/wearables/user-input/wear-ime

It's been a while since I've done much development of any kind but I may at least take a look at some point. But no promises of actually contributing anything 😅.
