Following up on #96, a request from the LTA people:

introduce <div type="editorial"> (same attribute & value and same meaning as the existing <note type="editorial">) in order to separate exhaustive editorial stuff (not all simply classifyable as <div type="preface">) preceding editions of historical texts.
