Package rather than solution?

I've looked at this and the newer Projects, and was wondering if there's any plan for future versions to design this as a package instead?

I think it'd be useful to provide the core functionality as a package, and it won't interfere with the solution approach.

Using the core Laravel gates/can functions would allow users to swap out Spatie (for example) if they're not that way inclined, and add the ticketing to existing apps.

Appreciate this is a significant undertaking. Was just interested in the solution approach vs traditional package.
