Should be doable via python setup.py bdist_rpm and the debian equivalent. Just needs doing, testing, and documenting.

It would be nice to have a DEB for eventual inclusion of khmer in CloudBioLinux.

I'm scheduling this for the 1.0 release.

I'm too unfamiliar to roll a homebrew release myself. Pull requests with a recipe for Debian or Homebrew are quite welcome :-)
