I don't have a tapo cloud subscription but relying on local SD card recordings. It's possible to view those recordings on the tapo app.
So would it be possible to download them using the API? Would you know what endpoints to use? I think the current script supports only those videos that are stored in the "cloud" rather than local mounted sd card.

My plan is to have a cronjob download those local videos onto my linux server as a backup.
Any support or guidance would be really helpful.
Thanks

Been there in January this year as you are now.

Found some other Python scripts, developed to get better control on own tapo recordings.

Tried all, no success.

As these days I started to play with Home Assistant Green, after some time spent on reading docu about integrations, services and then I created 6 scripts (for 6 tapo c210 cameras) and 6 automations running based on triggers - it's not perfect but it's working.

Beside my dumby straight solution there is the integration called "Tapo Controls". It brings the same features as in Tapo app and more in addition. It's carefully maintained in github, issues answered, very good job.

If you'd interested, search github for "home assistant" and "tapo control" 😉

Nor Home Assistant is perfect. Last months I realised that I'm slowly becoming more pissed but it has any relation to your funny costume 😁
