I'm not sure how prevalent use is so far, but it would be nice for wikiciteparser to support this in some way. At a minimum, it could return a reference object with the wikidata qid in the ID_list and nothing else.

"Cite Q" (https://diff.wikimedia.org/2021/01/14/automatically-maintained-citations-with-wikidata-and-cite-q/) is a mechanism for citing source works which have a Wikidata entry ("Q" id). The wikidata metadata is fetched at page render type and transcluded.
