Unable to create article: browser not resonding

I'm not sure where the issue lies but I've installed the most recent version of aldryn newsblog onto our site and any time I try to create an article, I get the spinny wheel of death in my browser and after a few minutes, it stops responding. I get no errors in the error log. So it makes it really hard to pinpoint what the issue is. I'm curious as to if anyone has seen this before and how to resolve? I have all the correct includes in Installed Apps. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling again and still get the same issue.
