Describe

If the Firefox browser is not started and the link is opened with mds, the following error will be reported

Hi, bommbo. Your issue appears to me to be connected with the ability to start firefox directly from command shell.
I've found something similar here elFarto/nvidia-vaapi-driver#131 (unfortunately, without digging too much in details).
mds uses duct to run subprocesses, and it reexports env of mds for subprocess being run. Thus, it's unlikely to introduce any more issues compared to running firefox directly in terminal.
