Running this project in a local dev environment without docker

Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to run this project in a local dev environment without docker.

I am using WSL 1 on windows 10 for my development environment, and I had issues upgrading to WSL2 and getting docker to run on my system because of lack of hardware support.
