Problem with stamenmap over the Pacific

Hello, I am using ggplot/ggmap/get_stamenmap to generate a map over the Pacific but I don't get any titles for Polynesia. I am using a text file with the latitude/longitude for each point. Thanks

Hello,
You are trying to cross the 180th meridian, which can be problematic with the default projection, I believe. Have you tried two calls, on going up to +180 for the left side of your map and the other from -180 to your desired right edge, also using negative numbers for west longitudes. Just a suggestion, since I think this behavior is a function of the defined projection space (-180 to +180 in longitude) and not with the ggmap package. I bump into this a lot, unfortunately.
