I got this error even the file with own to 999:999
Error reading file /data/key/mongodb-keyfile: Permission denied

Listing the file inside the container everithing is ok.
ls -l /data/key

-rw-------. 1 mongodb mongodb 1004 Mar 29 19:10 mongodb-keyfile

ls -ln /data/key

-rw-------. 1 999 999 1004 Mar 29 19:10 mongodb-keyfile
