Today someone must update their dockerfile to add libmsquic if they want HTTP/3.

We should consider adding libmsquic to mcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/aspnet for .NET 7. That allows users to skip this step.

This issue is mostly for tracking.

  • We should talk to get dockerfile maintainers about whether this is a good idea and how to make it happen.
  • We should talk with networking team. Package requirements might change, e.g. msquic might start shipping in Linux runtime distribution.

no. also this would not be the repro to do the work. since we plan to mark it still preview in 7.0 I don't think dragging extra dependency (and maintenance) make sense. cc: @karelz

We've moved this issue to the Backlog milestone. This means that it is not going to be worked on for the coming release. We will reassess the backlog following the current release and consider this item at that time. To learn more about our issue management process and to have better expectation regarding different types of issues you can read our Triage Process.
