Building API documentation every time I run a build takes very long

Hey all, I'm pretty new to DocFX. Working on a project on my local machine where I've generated a lot of API documentation. Now when I make smaller changes to the non API documentation, and run docfx serve docfx_project/_site for example, its seems to load reloading all of the API metadata which is taking very long for each build.

Is there any way to avoid this so I can begin making smaller edit to the non API documentation without needing to wait for ~10 build times?
