Generate list of JSON objects

Generating list of JSON objects can be useful. For instance, in the summarisation cookbook we had to use a workaround to be able to generate such a list.

I guess this is were the current interface breaks down: should it be via generate.json or generate.format. This is a corner case that we need to keep in mind for the upcoming refactor.
