Ubuntu 18 and HiRes display

When running on a high resolution screen (3200x1800) many any of the fields are partially hidden. The problem is not there with a lower resolution setting (Ubuntu-mate 18.10)

At greater than 2560/1440, we get problems with fonts size on an Ubuntu 18 machine:

Starts out with a small rectangular display
Tool-Filter crashes with an assert
Sample rate hidden on Audio Config and Options dialog
Main screen axis labels are obscured

This problem appears to have been fixed, on my Ubuntu 18.05 Dell Laptop I tried 2880 x 1620 and 3200 x 1800 and I could not repeat the problems above.
