PHP 5.3.3 became a requirement for Drush 6. I just checked, and the Drush 5 branch and the 5.9 release are both still requiring PHP 5.2. Maybe you upgraded to Drush 6 by mistake?
thanks for the reply greg. I must have installed the wrong version over SSH. I should have checked back here earlier, have made a real mess now.
Thanks, closing.
I just upgraded Drush via command line and received an error stating PHP 5.3.3 is required.
As I am running PHP 5.3.2 (Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS) it has thrown this error.
I checked the read me on the Drush 7.x-5.9 release and it says:
version 5.2 or greater.
I am wondering if there is something wrong with my set up (apart from being old) or is the read me is wrong.
thanks
