Don't auto spec last round pls #3
Comments
Hey Yakumounr, Sorry this happened to you, but thank you for reporting this bug! Do you know which plugin was installed? |
No idea, about the plugin version, or even for sure that it was the one you wrote at all, only that it was on "The Northern Tribe CA ELO 1800+ Frankfurt" server, and having seen it happen, I thought this should be prevented in any balance plugins. As for replication, he did quit before the 9th round started if I remember correctly, as there was just enough time for it to kick me before it began. Thanks for the response :) |
On second read, maybe I misunderstood the situation. When exactly were you moved to spec? At which point in the match? If someone ragequits a game, teams become unbalanced. It seems quite logical to me that the plugin(s) would balance every next round, even when one team is close to the round limit. This is unfortunate for the player that is moved to spec, but you should not worry about it counting as a loss, or you losing 'precious' glicko. When you move to spec during a game and teams were uneven it doesn't count as a quit or a loss, only when you go to spec when teams are even (and you disrupt the balance). As for the glicko algorithm; you won't necessarily lose glicko on a lose, or gain it on a win, it is based on your in-game performance. Depending on score / second values you will be given a rating change based on your performance. |
Dear @Yakumounr Do you still want to elaborate on what happened, or can we consider this issue as closed? Best, |
At that time a player quit before just the start of the final round, and I was moved to spec just after it started, it was a balanced game, but it was arguably for the best for it to work that way. However - A couple of days ago a player pulled the plug (or crashed) just after he died in the final round and went 999, nothing changed immediately and the round continued until he timed out, very shortly after that I was moved to spec which was far more frustrating than when it had happened previously as the player had fully taken part in the round, and I was still nearly full :( |
Apologies for the late reply. Potentially placing a player into spec due to uneven teams is only initiated by the round_countdown and round_start hooks. If you were put to spec in the middle of a round, it was most likely not because of a plugin. (Perhaps an admin manually moved you?) |
Auto-spec scripts shouldn't auto-spec people in the last round
Someone ragequitting a balanced game from the other team on I think it was 7:9 , forces someone that's worked hard all game to a loss from forced quit, and possibly glicko damage, haven't checked how that works now.
The game's over at that point anyway, it's just unfair on the one forced out imo.
Obviously this just happened to me :/
