Certain distros like NixOS don't have a standard file layout. Compiling the plugin as a static library might fix that.

Hello, sorry for late response, could you elaborate please, since for deadbeef it's impossible to load .a files, shared libraries are required for plugins.

There's a plugin builder for DeaDBeeF in the GitHub org that builds it as a statically linked library.
