this is so anyone using the image isn't necessarily trying to connect to the same hard-coded mirror

added app-portage/mirrorselect and sys-process/vixie-cron as installed packages to the image to help address this

if we sync via git/github, this becomes much less of a problem #11

or does it? that only affects the portage ebuild mirror, not the mirror used to download packages, right? 👎

mirrorselect takes a minute, I want to avoid unnecessary delays for startup if I can, though it may be acceptable if this only affects the ability to install packages after boot
