'-' Tag Created for Metrics with NULL in MetricTags #68
Comments
Metric Description is the description of the dimension or measure. If you leave it blank, it will show up as a null value in the metrics library table in the metrics library app because you did not populate it from your source. http://eapowertools.github.io/GovernedMetricsService/user-guide/qsconfig/#create-the-metrics-library-app |
Hello Jeff, I made an incorrect assumption about MetricDescription. Even my metrics with a definition have this '-' tag. None of my metrics has MetricOwner or MetricTags defined. I suppose that the lack of data in MetricTags be the real cause of this? Since GMS is creating tags for each metric, is there a way not to assign a '-' tag? |
can you upload a screenshot? Is this in the client, or just the metrics library table? |
what is the raw data value in the metric owner and metric tag fields for each record. Is it actually blank / null or are you supplying the dash? I believe earlier you said it's null. |
cools thanks. I'll log this as a bug. thanks |
Hello Jeff, It turns out that the '-' tag may be the result of null in MetricTag or MetricOwner whenever there be contents in MetricDescription, but I see that if I have not entered a description, the GMS-created metric does end up with a description value of '-'... |
'-' will be resolved in release scheduled for late jan, early feb. |
dash is removed in next release. |
A '-' tag is created for metrics with NULL in the MetricDescription attribute. This doesn't seem useful. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
René
