Downloading mods

Mods are downloaded via the Online tab once you've selected a profile.

All mods, and their information, are downloaded from Thunderstore.

Downloading

By default, your mods will be shown in a compact view, where the cards are closed. Simply click on a mod to expand it, you'll be able to see a short description about the mod, and you'll be presented with two options:

Download

This will begin the download process for the mod. After clicking this, you'll be presented with a popup, allowing you to select the version of the mod you'd like to install. You'll most likely want the latest version.

After selecting Download mod + dependencies, you'll begin downloading your mod. Any required dependencies will also be downloaded alongside it.

After the downloads have been completed, you'll find them installed in your Installed tab.

View on Thunderstore

This will open the mod's Thunderstore page in your default browser. From here, you'll be able to either install directly from the website, or view the mod's README for some more detailed information.

Information

You'll often want to see some information regarding the mod you'd like.

Starred mods

Mods with stars before their name are known as essential mods. These are required for almost all mods to work.

Ticked mods

Mods with a tick next to the expander icon mean that they are installed.

Description

Once a mod has been expanded, you'll see a block of text below the mod name. This is the mod's description, and should give you enough information to decide whether or not that mod is right for you.

Download count

Once expanded, you'll see a download icon with a number next to it. This shows how many times a mod has been downloaded.

Note: Download counts won't update until you restart the manager.

Rating

Every mod has a rating, based on a number of upvotes. Once a mod has been expanded, you'll see a thumbs-up icon with a number next to it. This is the rating of the mod. Generally speaking, the higher the rating, the better a mod is.

The mod cache

Once mods have been downloaded, they are stored locally. Subsequent downloads will not affect the download count, and should install near instantly. The cache works across profiles.

Newer or older versions will however been downloaded, although they are then also added to the cache.

To clear the cache, go to Settings, and click Browse data folder. The file explorer will open after a short time, inside the r2modmanPlus-local folder. Go to the mods/cache folder, and delete your desired mods.
