The CDT Default Binary File Editor is associated with Static Library content such as the archive format files (*.a) created by the GNU ar tool, but it does not support invoking objdump on these files. At present, this viewer will invoke objdump when presenting Executable File, Object File and Shared Library content only.

Enhancing the Default Binary File Editor to support Static Library content will involve accommodating IArchive objects as editor input, in addition to IBinary objects.
