Is your enhancement related to a problem? Please describe.

When I connect github the wait is very long (I assume because che are attempting to load all my repositories which are in several hundreds)

2020-01-16_11-33-58 (1)

and once loaded the filtering text field is very clunky.

2020-01-16_11-33-58 (1)

Hard to see on the video but the characters don't show up even thouhg i'm typing from the start.
sometimes the field stays blank but the dialog below does get filtered...sometimes it duplicates the text as if not properly listening to the typing.

Describe the solution you'd like

Load the repositories incrementally, don't have the textfield block when filtering.

cc @beaumorley.
@maxandersen : In general the overall experience creating a workspace, importing a source code repo needs to be completely revisited. We've started to collect thoughts on thiss.

Issues go stale after 180 days of inactivity. lifecycle/stale issues rot after an additional 7 days of inactivity and eventually close.

Mark the issue as fresh with /remove-lifecycle stale in a new comment.

If this issue is safe to close now please do so.

Moderators: Add lifecycle/frozen label to avoid stale mode.

@che-bot che-bot added the lifecycle/stale Denotes an issue or PR has remained open with no activity and has become stale. label Jul 27, 2020

This is part of the old UI, AFAIK it's different/better now.
