Use a templating framework in the component renderers #1393

This may be of a lower priority.

The HTML output for the rendered component is generated in Java. This makes it hard to maintain the rendered output of the component.

Investigate and assert if using a templating framework (e.g. mustash, freemarker etc) is something that would be do-able and helpful.
