"compute alternate solutions" should be parallelized #309

Currently the "compute alternate solutions" is working by computing 1/15, 2/15, ... but on a multiprocessor system it would be desirable to make this parallel. While the computation runs I see one CPU at about 100% but the rest sitting quite idle...
