We never intended to have strong PDF support, considering that other reading software already provides a good reading experience.
However, we could consider (aside from the existing pdf.js) offering a different reading experience by implementing Deriving HTML from PDF algorithm
This advancement would allow users to fully leverage nearly all the features of EPUBs, including screen reader support, annotations, text-to-speech functionality, and more, enhancing the overall reading experience.
Of course, the output will depend on the PDF's original quality, but we could consider that it would be demonstrative of what's going wrong for content creators and empower them to build better PDFs.
