The footnote block + slate markup functionality is great, but it's not obvious how to edit them! The video in the README is helpful (I wouldn't have figured it out without that), but some written guidance would help a lot. Further, some kind of instructions that go along with the operation is required, for people who use it but who aren't among those who see the README.

Notes I made when discovering the operation may be a useful start on the instructions:

  • Add footnote

    1. Use highlighted-text menu to assign a footnote entry to a text fragment.
    2. Use the right sidebar "Footnote entry" menu to assign footnote text to the footnote reference.
  • Change footnote

    1. Place cursor in the footnote reference text fragment.
    2. Select the footnote icon in menu that appears above the cursor to open the footnote sidebar dialog.
  • Remove footnote

    1. Like changing the footnote, but use the "X" in the footnote sidebar dialog to remove an existing footnote or abandon creation of a new one.

More explanation of the Footnote block "Entire document" switch is needed (I may be dense, but I haven't read the code and don't understand it from the expanation provided).

It may be useful to include a note in the footnote-creation dialog suggesting to place a footnote block if one is not already present in the document.
