Welcome to Lexy's Labyrinth, an open source puzzle game that is curiously similar to — but legally distinct from! — the Atari classic Chip's Challenge. It's been lovingly crafted from scratch with completely new art, sounds, and music; it lets you undo your mistakes; and it's the only way to play Chip's Challenge 2 levels on Linux, Mac, or a phone!
You can dive right in with one of the built-in level packs; load and play any levels you've got lying around; or brave the level editor and make a few of your own. Or if you really like reading, you can keep doing that.
This is an emulator for Chip's Challenge, a classic puzzle game for the Atari Lynx (though much better known by its early Windows port). It can load and play levels and level sets for Chip's Challenge 1 or Chip's Challenge 2.
If you've never even heard of Chip's Challenge before, its Wikipedia article briefly describes its history, but the short version is: it's a tile-based puzzle game where you collect keys, open doors, dodge monsters, collect chips hearts, and try to get to the exit in one piece.
The actual Chip's Challenge games are still available on Steam: Chip's Challenge 1 is free, and Chip's Challenge 2 is $5 last time I checked. You can load and play their levels in Lexy's Labyrinth, if you like.
The original games are published by a tiny studio called Niffler, and also have a spiritual sequel Chuck's Challenge 3D (which Lexy's Labyrinth does not emulate), named for the original designer, Chuck Sommerville.
Lexy's Labyrinth is not approved of, endorsed by, assisted with, or in any way related to Chip's Challenge, Chuck Sommerville, Niffler, or the parasitic rightsholder Alpha Omega Productions.

The editor is still quite rough, but you're welcome to give it a try and tell me how it's treating you.
