Can't change the unit

I want to change the unit of an entity (to set the oven timer in minutes instead of seconds). However that has no effect on the entity at all and it is shown in seconds.

You can change the name of the units but not the actual value that is reported by the API. You can use a HA template to create a custom value based on this one.
