Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The BrushEndListener requires an XY chart type to return x whose values are numbers. However, if the chart is using an ordinal axis and not a linear axis the x values should be a list of the ordinal strings within the brushed selection (which are not numbers).

Describe the solution you'd like
A brush event that can handle ordinal axis.
