Allow switching between different versions on https://elastic.github.io/eui/ #566

This is slowly in progress - we are working on automating the release process which will support hosting different versions of the docs. |
👋 Hey there. This issue hasn't had any activity for 180 days. We'll automatically close it if that trend continues for another week. If you feel this issue is still valid and needs attention please let us know with a comment. |
While the switcher does not exist, if anyone needs to get to old version of EUI docs you can use some URL scumming to get older versions. For example: https://eui.elastic.co/v31.9.0/#/ . Just substitute the version you want into that pattern. |
👋 Hi there - this issue hasn't had any activity in 6 months. If the EUI team has not explicitly expressed that this is something on our roadmap, it's unlikely that we'll pick this issue up. We would sincerely appreciate a PR/community contribution if this is something that matters to you! If not, and there is no further activity on this issue for another 6 months (i.e. it's stale for over a year), the issue will be auto-closed. |
For plugin development in Kibana, it is nice to use eui so that it has the same styling as the rest of Kibana. And it is really nice to be able to go to https://elastic.github.io/eui/ to see the latest eui settings.
But if I am targeting different versions of Kibana (such as 6.2.3, 6.x, or 7.x), I need to see different eui documentation for each version (Kibana 6.2.3 => Eui 0.0.14, Kibana 6.x and 7.x => 0.0.33).
Now, I can clone eui and run the documentation manually myself but it would be really nice if the eui documentation site (https://elastic.github.io/eui/) had a switcher between different versions. You wouldn't need to have every version be available but at least the versions used by supported versions of Kibana.
