In Lens, it is possible to graph a metric and add a reference line, which could be used to show some kind of water level mark.
If one is graphing CPU usage this could be used to mark out when the CPU is getting higher than what is expected/accepted.

When putting such a Lens visualization in a Dashboard it would be great if there was an easy way to connect such a reference line to a Rule (or even without the reference line).

Today, users are forced to go from their Dashboard into other applications (Observability / Rules and Connectors) to create these Rules. It would be preferable if this context swap could be avoided and it was possible to trigger (and perhaps even pre-fill) the Rule creation dialog from within a Dashboard.

CC @gmmorris This might be relevant for you, once we're able to display Alerts in a dashboard this might be a logical next step.
