When choosing an element today, we automatically default to the default color palette

I was using Google Slides today and noticed an interesting feature I hadn't come across before. For their diagrams, they allow you to select a color and automatically updates all of them.

I was thinking to myself, wouldn't it be nice if we could do that with Canvas elements? This way, as you choose elements you can automatically stay in the same style. So next to the search bar in the element picker, there could be a color drop down that would update all previews to match the chosen color (solid color or related palette) and then when you add to your workpad, it uses the new color.

This is more of an issue open for discussion and definitely not a priority, but wondering if we should pursue further down the road as we begin to add more templated options.

I think this might make sense as a new phase of workpad templates.

One of the early discussions we have, though I don't think we ever made an issue for it, was adding a way to attach specific defaults to a workpad, and color palette and font stuff are obvious choices for that. So if you set a default on the workpad, and your elements were just using the default values, they would all get updated to the workpad default instead of the argument default. And as you add new elements, they look roughly how you want immediately.

The reason I think this makes sense in the context of workpad templates is because they are basically just "starting points" for workpads. Once a user sets that up, they can export that work as a template and use it to create future workpads that all look consistent (same colors, same fonts, same assets, etc).
