Steps to reproduce

Looking at any reply message in any chat room

Outcome

For mentions and replies, I expect to see "pills" with the name of the person being referred to.

Instead, I see a standard "document" icon in white and blue, stretched out sideways.

Can confirm this bug too. I’m on latest AppStore-version of element and have been using iOS 16 public beta 1 and 2, iPhone 12.

Edit: One can easily enlist in these public betas at https://beta.apple.com/sp/betaprogram.

Just retested on iOS 16 public beta 3. Issue still remains.

Can confirm this on iOS and iPasOS Betas. This should probably be given higher probability, as iOS 16 will probably ship in 2-4 weeks.

Agreed, and when I'm testing with 1.9.1 on iOS 16 beta this is the single biggest visual bug that I'm seeing (I disagree it should be tagged uncommon, by the way, since everyone is seeing it on every message reply)

On the latest builds for iOS/iPadOS betas. It’s been happening since beta 1 and its not uncommon, bug is pretty widespread and reproducible even on app reinstallation. Persisting ui bug is on latest TestFlight builds as well. @stefanceriu

Tested latest test-flight build on latest iOS 16 beta. Can confirm issue is fixed on my end.
