Consider making the UI/UX more messenger-friendly for 1:1 convos

This is a HL tracking bug for considering the UX for starting 1:1 convos in such a way that it doesn't feel like an empty room that you happen to invite someone into, and uses the contact list and roster more effectively, to pacify people who expect a more WA style UX than an IRC one

Is there a plan to have a contact list? Does that also apply to the mobile apps? Is there a bug to track it?

yes, there is; primarily for the mobile apps. no, there isn't a bug; it's a bunch of mockups on my & Amandine's hard disks instead right now.
