Is your suggestion related to a problem? Please describe.
When I join a busy room after a few days, there are a lot of messages that I haven't read, and going to the first unread message, and then slowly scrolling down through all of them takes more time than it should. (Even if I have my onscreen-message-read time set to 10ms, it takes time for the messages to load, and for me to scroll.)

Describe the solution you'd like
Some way to mark all messages in a room as read would be great, but that's already a bug (#8541), and needs some sort of UI.

Describe alternatives you've considered
The existing behaviour works, but isn't as effective as it could be.
Presumably, if I was interested in reading the messages in the middle, I would do that, instead of clicking the "Jump to bottom" button…

That bug is actually: #8666

#8541 is about marking a bunch of rooms as read at once

The mark all as read button below jump to unread works now, as #8666 is fixed.

I'm not sure about the jump to bottom button marking everything as read, usually i use that if there are new messages while i was going through older messages, so i want to go back up once i read it. Plus there is a hotkey (ESC), that jumps to the bottom and marks the room as read. Also, in the description it sounds like you were already at the bottom from the start, so you could just dismiss the read marker instead.
