Description

I'm on the mozilla.org server, I use Riot desktop, and the RiotX client. The unread/read status do not sync between clients.

Steps to reproduce

  • Have both the Riot desktop and RiotX client on one account and logged in (I'm using the mozilla.org server).
  • Receive messages into a room
  • Read messages on one device
  • Go to the other device and look at the status.

The read status never gets synced, you end up looking at the read status from when you looked at it on that device previously.

Note I also have other issues with read - #12338 and #13717 which may also be affecting things.

Logs being sent: yes/no

Version information

  • Platform: desktop

  • OS: macOS

  • Version: 1.6.1

RiotX version 0.20.0 (Android 7).

Having observed this more over the last few days, I think that this is a side affect of #12338 - this seems to be happening when the read markers are messed up.

When a channel is working properly, then it goes to the top of the list.

This seems to generally be working fine now, suspect it was a side affect of #12338
