Please make main address (alias) of room selectable via mouse for copy-paste. At now I need to re-type it manually for share to others, that very annoying!

As I understand, make select element selectable is not so easy, so maybe duplicate main alias via simple text over the select element? Or add "Copy" button in right side of it.

Impossible without making a custom select which is bad for accessibility

Your other suggestions are possible however

@MurzNN, what would the benefit of this? You can already mention the room in a message (if the other user is on Matrix already) or you can share a link to that room using the share dialog. Sorry if I am missing something

I simply need to copy the room alias to clipboard, to paste it in other external apps - not the full matrix.to url, not the room id, only room alias. And even in "Share Room" dialog regular user can't select and copy only the alias, because this is a link, and trying to select part of the text will drag the link. The workaround with holding "Alt" works, but not all knows about this hack.

Select all then Copy works for this purpose.

Ah, okay, I guess that makes sense 👍

Hmm, which app did you use for this? This trick isn't working on Firefox (it select all text on page, excluding the main alias) and on Opera, some Electron apps (Ferdi, Rambox) - they have no such option in right-click menu, on Chromium too:

Indeed, but does in Element desktop

I'm on Fedora 34 GNOME Wayland Firefox. Also there it is not possible to select the main address. Also using the Alt-key does not work.

If I choose Select All, all text in the page is selected, except the Main address:

in "Share Room" dialog

Where can I find this dialog in element-web?

Actually, I'm looking for a link like this:
https://matrix.to/#/#community-librem-5:talk.puri.sm

This will allow me to share a room easily with non Matrix users.

You can get that in that dialog, but please let's keep any other questions to the Element Web/Desktop room

Thanks for the pointers! For me it looks a bit different. I have to select "Invite to this room":

Then I a popup window containing this appears:

Where the "share this room" link takes me to:
https://matrix.to/#/!FwbcAdwtvCYkHekZKf:talk.puri.sm?via=talk.puri.sm&via=matrix.org&via=librem.one

And that is what I am looking for. Although the link looks a bit complicated compared to:
https://matrix.to/#/#community-librem-5:talk.puri.sm

So, the the URL I was looking for is there, but it was a bit hard to find for me.

@t3chguy Thanks! I interpreted this back button as an indication that the a side menu was expanded :-/
Now I see the main menu things are much clearer!
