The only way to join a room, to which you know the address or room_id, is via the explore dialog. This is in no way intuitive, as this is the place to browse or search through public rooms. In fact, we get more and more support requests of users asking us how to join a room they know the address of.

And yeah, there’s the /join command, but that’s not an option for users without any experience in this kind of tools.

Why is there not, for example, at least another menu entry in the add room menu?

That would still need two clicks to reach the dialog to join a room, but it’s definitely way more intuitive than the explore route.
