Ctrl+z has to be pressed twice before emoji selection is reversed #19524

Steps to reproduce

  1. Type out an emoji in :, :eyes:
  2. Select it from the list
  3. Press ctrl+z one time, observe no change
  4. Press ctrl+z a second time, observe a change

Outcome

What did you expect?

The emoji selection to be reversed on the first ctrl+z

What happened instead?

The emoji selection required an extra ctrl+z

#19177 was the original issue for this, after which matrix-org/matrix-react-sdk#7007 fixed it partially. This is a bug report about the remaining unexpected behaviour.
