What would you like to do?

Add a way to mark all messages as read (across all rooms)

Why would you like to do it?

I don't care about reading the set of notifications currently in my room list.

Specifically a use case for a Gitter user getting onboarded into their Matrix account that has been bridging for years. They have a stack of unread messages that aren't relevant to actually reading and should have an easy way to start fresh with no unreads.

How would you like to achieve it?

Gitter accomplishes this with a /mark-all-read slash command. A bit of a power-user way but it's an easy method we can share to people when they ask.

Have you considered any alternatives?

Alternatively, we could also add some nice discoverable UI for this somewhere
