This issue was originally created by @Johennes at matrix-org/matrix-authentication-service#1545.

Browser sessions will be created when you manually sign in on MAS without a client but also when you go from the account and device management sections in the clients to MAS (where you need to re-authenticate). This means users will regularly get those and we have to support them in the UI.
