What Happened?

When external display is connected to laptop, if the laptop lid is closed then opened again, the built-in display will remain off until the laptop goes to sleep or is shutdown/restarted.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Connect external display to laptop
  2. Close laptop lid so that only external display is being used
  3. Open laptop lid
  4. You'll see that the built-in display does not turn back on

I've encountered this issue both on OS 7 (with latest updates) and OS 8.

Expected Behavior

The built-in display should turn back on when the laptop lid is opened after being closed.

Session Type

Secure Session (Wayland)
