KDL 2.0.0 has been released (https://github.com/kdl-org/kdl/releases/tag/2.0.0), and we're hoping the implementation community starts moving over to the new version now, which will be the "blessed" KDL going forward.

Once tree-sitter-grammars/tree-sitter-kdl#11 is done this should be trivial to update!
